Simple Simon’s, Canterbury

Our Gigs/Past Gigs

Simple Simon’s, Canterbury, 26th August 2002:

Not a bad gig. I had to rush in and out so quickly that I’ve forgotten the surname of the bloke I was supporting! His first name is David and he is from Chile.

I was on the bill (with 24 hours notice!) as “the eclectic electric eccentric”. Make of that what you will…

I couldn’t quite hit all the high notes on “What Is The Light?”, but all-in-all I think I did okay. Crowd reaction was vaguely receptive. Someone said I sounded like Morrissey (say what?!), but I didn’t kill him (he was too quick for me).

Set list:

  • Whisky Man ( John Entwistle)
  • ES-40 (Williams)
  • Bobby-Sox Blues (T- Bone Walker)
  • Cocoon (Williams)
  • Force Of Nature (Williams)
  • Fido, Your Leash Is Too Long (Magnetic Fields)
  • What Is The Light? (Flaming Lips)
  • The Medway Crab Fisherman (Williams)
  • Duncan Down (Williams)
  • What’s Under The Stairs? (Williams)
