The Command House, Chatham

Our Gigs/Past Gigs

The Command House, Chatham, 17th September 2005:

Not “just” an open stage: this is a monthly gathering for the Urban Fox Collective — a Medway Towns group of musician, artists, writers and photographers — to do their thang. Tonight was somewhat sparsely attended (I was told “it’s normally packed”; the story of my life!) but we were treated to a fair variety of music (totally acoustic: no PA!) and poetry, as well as some refreshingly unpretentious DJing from the Buff Medways’ Wolf Howard: just some Hendrix and Link Wray LPs stacked up on an old auto-changer. I will return. Oh, and contrary to myths which I probably have done nothing to help dispel, I didn’t see a single chavver in Chatham (in fact, it was curiously deserted), though there were plenty between Whitstable and Gillingham. Owight, bruv?
