Genre Music Is The Enemy
This is a test.

1) Yes, the new EP is absurdly late, but yes, it is coming shortly. Having suffered the usual cash-related delays of DIY, the latest problem is a duplicator who is really bloody slow! But it will be soon… very soon.
2) There is a video (also fashionably late) for Overdraft Blues, directed by Leo B. de Cookman, shortly to be available…watch this space.
3) New Rave. Why-oh-why? As if Old Rave wasn’t bad enough. Some things are best left alone. Glo-sticks and smiley t-shirts are best left alone. 2 Unlimited and Altern-8 are best left in the dustbin of history, surely?
4) Yes, we are finally going back to New York!! Leo and I will be doing a piano and guitar set at the Sidewalk Café as part of the Summer Antifolk Festival, courtesy of the marvellous Lach. Hopefully we’ll see some of you there! Maybe…
Last week, The Psychotic Reaction (well, two of them anyway) had their first ever radio interview and acoustic (!) session (!!) on Canterbury Student Radio at the UKC. As well as discussing life, the universe and everything, we played four songs: It’s A Small Town, A Moment of Clarity (where I forgot the words for the first time ever!), The Richard Dawkins Rag and Barking Up The Wrong Tree. Choice excerpts will be available for download shortly. Thanks to Amelia and all at CSR for having us, we’re due back again in September or October, after our ker-ay-zee summer of festival excess (well, sort of…)
We should be doing some kind of informal live interview/session on Canterbury Student Radio tomorrow (Thursday 5th July) between 3pm and 5pm. You can listen live on the internet, or if you’re in Canterbury tune in on 97.4FM.
Our Saturday gig at the Deck in Deal has been cancelled- sorry for the short notice, but this is due to the avarice of the venue’s owners and NOT the fault of our pals at Goodwins.
That leaves us with precisely NO gigs confirmed at present. If you want us, let us know- Weddings, Birthdays, Funerals, anytime, anyplace anywhere…
Don’t forget Double A-Side, Videos AND an EP are all available shortly!!
Our new single, the double A-side “A Moment Of Clarity” and “Overdraft Blues” will be released on 17th April. The tracks will be completely free MP3s and will be available at MySpace and LastFM. There will also be videos for both tracks on YouTube. Watch out for them nearer the release date. Meanwhile our YouTube profile has links to some videos of other bands we like.
We have another EP nearly ready which will be coming out some time in the summer.
Meanwhile, we will be adding more content from the old site and making new posts here.
Welcome to the brand new Psychotic Reaction website which is completely different from the old one. This site is built around a Wordpress blog, which is more flexible than the old site and has lots of cool features. You can find important information in permanent pages linked to near th top of the sidebar. Other content will be in the form of blog posts, which we hope will keep the site fresh. You can also comment on any posts. Post categories are similar to the structure of the old site, but are more flexible. We’ll be copying all the old content onto this site over the next few weeks as well as posting new stuff, including more opinion pieces/rants about music and other stuff.
Subscribe to the RSS or Atom feed to get all the latest updates without having to check the site.
See the sidebar for links to our other web presences. At LastFM you can listen to more or less everything we’ve ever released, and download some free MP3s. Flickr has all our photo archives, which you can tag, comment, annotate, and see on a map. And there’s still our MySpace page, although it’s becoming increasingly obvious that MySpace is rubbish. Wordpress is better for blogging. LastFM is better for music. Flickr is better for photos. Second Life is better for cyber sex.
You will also notice the dates of forthcoming gigs conveniently displayed in the sidebar. Now there’s no excuse for missing them.
This post is just here to make sure every post category has been used at least once.
